Treska has spent over four decades following a single, unwavering thread: the belief that people deserve to be cared for holistically, body, mind, and spirit. Her journey from the maternity wards and surgical theaters of Pretoria to integrative nursing practice in Cape Town has been anything but linear, and that’s exactly what makes her so exceptional.
She trained at the University of Pretoria, qualifying as a registered nurse, midwife and psychiatric nurse, and kept growing. Over the years she has worked in orthopedic and surgical nursing, post-natal care, occupational health, home nursing, and integrative medicine. She founded the Western Cape provincial office for Multiple Sclerosis South Africa, building it into a fully functioning organization that served patients across three provinces. She ran a farm healthcare clinic that gave 56 people their first pair of spectacles and 28 their first set of dentures. She has co-led PhD research, trained caregivers, and pioneered IV ozone and photodynamic therapies at integrative healing clinics. In between, she took a few years off to raise three daughters, run a floristry, and throw pots in her own pottery studio.
Today, Treska practices as an integrative nursing practitioner, and patients feel immediately that they are in the hands of someone who has seen a great deal, cares deeply, and brings something beyond clinical skill to every appointment. Outside of work she hikes national trails, grows her own vegetables, plays piano and guitar, and has an enduring soft spot for classic films that moved her as a child. There is, quite simply, a lot of Treska to appreciate. Treska has completed her 18-month training as a PATH Method practitioner.
