Thirty years in nursing will teach you a thing or two, but what sets René apart isn’t just the experience, it’s the range. From ICU and medical wards at the NHS in the UK, to sexual and reproductive health, immunization, baby clinics, and most recently IV vitamin infusion treatments, she’s followed her curiosity wherever good patient care has taken her.
René qualified at Nico Malan Nursing College in the early nineties with a diploma spanning general, psychiatric, community nursing and midwifery, a broad foundation that still shows in the way she approaches people. She’s as comfortable supporting someone through a vulnerable moment as she is managing the operational side of a busy practice, having stepped into practice management roles alongside her clinical work.
But René’s care doesn’t stop at the clinic door. In her community, she’s built something she’s quietly proud of, a group for young girls where she teaches life skills, and a girls’ soccer team she started from scratch. It tells you everything about who she is: someone who shows up, rolls up her sleeves, and invests in people for the long haul.
