Bettina’s path into integrative medicine is one shaped by curiosity, care, and a mother’s instinct. After training in Austria and spending years working in the Heart Transplant Unit at the University Hospital of Vienna, followed by ICU training in Switzerland, she built a clinical foundation that few can match. She arrived in South Africa in 1996 and hasn’t looked back since.
It was becoming a mother that quietly changed everything. When her daughter was born with severe allergies, Bettina started asking different questions, ones that conventional medicine was not answering, leading her to integrative medicine, and intuitively it was logical to her. Seeing the whole person and their experience and surrounds, not just the symptoms, is simply how she takes on care.
That same philosophy extends to the animals she loves. As a devoted animal lover, she found herself drawn to homeopathic treatment for dogs, another thread in a life spent looking for gentler, more complete approaches to health and wellbeing.
What makes Bettina exceptional isn’t just her experience, it’s that she’s never stopped learning. She stays closely engaged with new developments in integrative medicine, constantly flying around the world to take courses, and she is a member of the Spanish Association of Medical Professionals in Ozone Therapy. Her warmth and genuine interest in the people she meets means patients feel it from the moment they walk in. Bettina has completed her 18-month training as a PATH Method practitioner.
